Day 1 Thursday June 19 2024 - Orillia

Day 1 (264 km)

Enjoyable ride from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Orillia via the QEW 407 and 400 highways, traffic was OK but the 400 is a busy 3 or 4 lane race track one needs to keep on alert. 

Karen is here for the annual Canadian Authors Assoc Annual Meeting and conference and I usually attend some of the evening events as I will tonight 

The on Friday I will continue on to Quebec via Bancroft and Renfrew.  I will meet up with Ben in Renfrew for lunch if our plan and timing work out, a lot of work goes into these trips so it is nice when everything just works. 

Weather so far is warm +26 and sunny bit cool this morning when I started off but nice now in the afternoon.

There are a lot of motorcycles attending this "bash" so it should be a fun weekend.

Heading off on a short (5 day) Motorcycle Trip to Quebec.  I will be attending the SCRC (Southern Cruiser Riding Club) Quebec Bash in the deep woods of Quebec.  Ben from North Bay will be joining me on route at Renfrew and we will then continue on to Quebec.

I will first be going to Orillia with Karen as she has her annual Writer Conference, I will set out on Friday AM for Quebec.  It is about 500km and around 8 hours of backloads riding which if the weather forecast is correct it will be excellent riding weather.  There are over 100 bikers attending, so this should be a great weekend.
